10 Billion Beats Special Solstice Drumming 2015

Join us in a drumming celebration for peace and healing this Winter Solstice.

10 Billion Beats Winter Solstice

10 Billion Beats

Dec. 21st., 2015

The need for peace and healing has only increased since the last newsletter.  With the need comes the temptation to be discouraged, to question our efforts.  How can people of goodwill make a difference?

Difficult times cause us to retreat into our belief systems.  It is there we find solace and the strength but we must not let it become a way to divide us one tradition against another.

In two weeks, on Dec. 21st. our drums and our intention will sound.  Read More…

Summer Solstice Celebration at Shaman’s Grove

I haven’t been blogging lately or posting much on Facebook. I am slowly (and I mean slowly) recovering from a concussion. Physically I’m pretty much back to normal, but my poor little scrambled brain isn’t quite up to snuff. So, writing, email, etc. is a challenge. As soon as I’m feeling “normal” again, I’ll start writing. We wanted to get these flyers out to you so you can keep on top of upcoming events.

So, until next time,

Debbie

Creating the Sacred Drum— A Drum Making Playshop
Saturday, June 20, 2015 | 10am – 5pm
Energy Exchange: $250 ($100 non-refundable materials deposit due by 6/15/15)

drums Making your own drum begins a journey as you give birth to this instrument of Spirit. This drum making playshop involves not only the learning of a physical skill but also a journey into the realm of Spirit. Ceremonies are done throughout the day to connect you to the spirits of the elk and cedar tree as well as the spirit of the drum. Birthing your drum begins a relationship of healing, learning and teaching between you and Spirit through the drum as it sings its song.

15” elk hide drums on cedar hoops and beaters.

Don’t miss out on this great playshop!   Space is limited.

Energy Exchange $50 per Person ($25 non-refundable deposit due by 6/15/15)

Come help us build the medicine wheel here at Shaman’s Grove and spend the afternoon exploring the energies of the Medicine Wheel.

MedwheelThis workshop is an experiential day working with Medicine Wheel Energies and your Light Body energy.  The Native American Medicine Wheel is based on the perception that all things are related and must be in harmony for the earth to be in balance.  It acts as a springboard of power that will allow you to connect with all the energies of the Universe.  All will participate in creating the Medicine Wheel and learn how to apply its energies to daily life through exercises and ceremonies.  These exercises and ceremonies will help you get in touch with a directional totem, as well as gain knowledge and energy from the spirits of the wheel, which can heal both yourself and Mother Earth.

Feeding Your Drum

feeding-drumThis morning I was reading my RSS feeds from the Shamanic Drumming blog. Michael posted a great “how to” on feeding your drum. Fortunately he’s given me permission to pass along his posts to you, so for all you drummers out there, here it his article. Thanks Michael.

How to Feed Your Drum
by Michael Drake

In the shaman’s world, all is alive. A drum is regarded as a living organism; not as an object. The drum has a spirit that can be awakened and if called upon, must be “fed.” Read More…
